Primary Purpose of Position:
Directs and manages the credit union’s information systems, cyber security and IT operations. Streamline systems, adopt new technologies, and handle multiple projects with tight deadlines. This role offers hybrid work flexibility and involves leading IT operations and guiding senior management on technology strategies. The goal is to enhance member experiences, security and position the credit union as a tech-savvy financial leader.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Works as a strategic partner with the CEO and the leadership team to provide vision and leadership for business initiatives including, but not limited to development, revision, and implementation of objectives, goals, policies, products, procedures, and programs of the IT and Data Security department.
- Designs, implements, and oversees a comprehensive cybersecurity and loss mitigation strategy for the Credit Union. Keeps current with industry trends in information technology and data security, conducting research, tracking developments, and analyzing IT performance and outcomes.
- Responsible for interfacing with different credit union departments for training and educating staff on information security policies and procedures.
- Manages the IT Budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and investments
- Monitors, updates, communicates, and ensures compliance with the disaster recovery plan for the Credit Union.
- Mentors and Leads the IT team, who are responsible for strategic and tactical projects (infrastructure, end-user support and collaboration applications), to maximize productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness of the department. Fosters a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Responsible for the management of the IT help desk ensuring prompt response and resolutions.
- Works with other Information Technology staff to standardize the access and security privileges provided on these systems to ensure that access given to users is appropriate and is in the interest of the credit union.
- Ensures that adequate records are retained and assists with preparing periodic reports to the Board of Directors.
- Resolves problems with networks and other computer systems.
- Oversees relationships and ongoing due diligence with technology vendors and service providers. Performs ongoing reviews of new and existing critical or high-risk vendors IT security programs.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with established information security policies and procedures and reports findings of such audits.

- Reviews security issues and recommendations for all third parties’ connections and remote users to our internal LAN and Host processing system. Recommends changes as necessary.
- Coordinates efforts to ensure audits and risk assessments are conducted in accordance with policy and regulations. Works with auditors and NCUA Examiner on information security compliance.
- Maintains the highest level of Integrity and conducts oneself in an ethical manner

- Maintains confidential data.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance with bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws, as appropriate to the position.
- Implements regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices such as NCUA, FFIEC, GLBA, PCI DSS, NIST 800-53 and ISO 27001 ensuring the Information Security Program is held to the highest standard.

Preferred Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Network, Cyber Security, or relevant field is preferred.
- 5-10 years of increasing responsibility in technology management.
- Advanced knowledge of NIST, CISA FFIEC, and NCUA Rules and Regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity practices and IT compliance requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Banking/Credit Union experience is preferred
- ITIL and AI Certifications preferred

Salary range: $95k-$115k
FLSA Status: Exempt
