FAQs
Yes, in order to become a Registered Dealer for our solar loans, they must go through a formal application, evaluation, and selection process. Our intention with this vetting process is to help improve the quality, longevity, and customer experience for our Members’ solar projects. That being said, Registered Dealers are independent contractors and are not affiliated with Clean Energy Credit Union. Clean Energy Credit Union does not endorse or make any representations or warranties with respect to the quality of work provided by Registered Dealers, and it is the responsibility of our Members and prospective Members to interview and select a solar dealer that meets their needs.
If you are applying for a non-solar clean energy loan, there is no requirement to work with a Registered Dealer. Please note: For Green Home Improvement projects, your contractor must have at least a 1 year workmanship warranty.
If you are applying for a solar loan, please ask your solar contractor (aka dealer) if they are a Registered Dealer with Clean Energy CU before you apply. Click here for more details about our Registered Dealer requirement.
The loan portal allows you to start and reply to conversations with our loan team, upload documents such as income verification, and track the status of your loan application.
Tasks are actions that need to be addressed, such as uploading income verification, completing a membership call with our member service team, finishing ID Pal, and more. In the portal, you’ll find a ‘Tasks’ section that lists the steps required to fully approve your loan application.
There are several ways to get in touch with our team. The most efficient method is to start a conversation directly in the loan portal, where your loan officer will respond with the information you need. Alternatively, you can call our mainline and press “2” from the main menu to reach us.
If you’d like to speak to someone about your membership, please reach out to our member service team via email at info@cleanenergycu.org or by calling our main line and selecting “1”.
Any of the following can fulfil this requirement:
- A bank statement that includes your name, routing number, & full account number
- A voided check
- A direct deposit form
Note – this is the account we will use to pull your monthly payments.
If you are a w2 employee: Copies of two most recent paystubs, four if you are paid weekly
If you are self-employed: Copies of your two most recent tax returns (the full tax return)
If you are retired: Copies of your two most recent bank statements or a social security benefits letter
The time it takes to process your loan application depends on your financial situation and how quickly you upload the requested documents, complete your membership call, and respond to any questions from our team. Processing can take as little as 3 days, but it may take longer if your application requires further review or if you need more time to gather documents or schedule a call with our team.
